Circle of Life

Circle of Life is a kinetic wall-mounted sculpture made from a cast iron component of a Sunshine Harvester (the first Combine Harvester in Australia).

The sculpture consists of a handle, that when rotated, produces an attenuated rotation of the 4 arrows, suggesting a slowing of time and an ambiguous repetition of events.
In some ways this is a reflection of my feelings at the time of making this work. I had just returned to live in country Victoria and was hoping to slow life down and immerse myself fully in the creative process.
